Buzz Rewards Terms of Service
1. Our Agreement
1.1 Buzz Rewards Ltd ("Buzz Rewards", "we", "us", or "our") is a company registered in the United Kingdom that provides loyalty tracking and rewards services using open banking technology.
1.2 Buzz Rewards is not a payment provider. We do not process payments, move money, or initiate transactions on your behalf. Our service is limited to read-only access to your transaction data for the purpose of tracking rewards and loyalty programs at participating merchants.
1.3 By accessing or using the Buzz Rewards website, mobile application, or any other service operated by Buzz Rewards (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service.
1.4 These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, govern your use of the Service. Please read them carefully before using Buzz Rewards.
2. The Service
2.1 Buzz Rewards provides a loyalty and rewards tracking service that allows users to:
Link their bank or card transactions via open banking technology to track purchases at participating retailers.
Automatically earn and redeem rewards based on their spending habits at registered merchants.
View loyalty balances and insights about their rewards and spending behavior.
2.2 You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United Kingdom to use the Service.
2.3 Buzz Rewards does not endorse or sponsor any financial institution or payment provider you link to the Service.
3. Access to the Service
3.1 The Service is accessible via the Buzz Rewards website and mobile application. Your use of the app is subject to the terms and policies of the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, as applicable.
3.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your login details with anyone else.
3.3 Buzz Rewards reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we detect any suspicious, fraudulent, or unauthorized activity.
4. Connecting Your Accounts
4.1 To use Buzz Rewards, you must connect your bank or card accounts via open banking technology. By doing so, you grant us read-only access to your transaction data for the purposes of tracking loyalty rewards.
4.2 Buzz Rewards does not initiate payments or process transactions. We only access and display eligible transactions that qualify for rewards at registered merchants.
4.3 You may disconnect your linked accounts at any time through the Buzz Rewards platform or by contacting customer support.
5. How We Use and Share Your Data
5.1 Purpose of Data Use
Buzz Rewards uses your data for the sole purpose of tracking and managing loyalty points and rewards associated with purchases you make at registered merchants. We do not sell or monetize your personal financial data.
5.2 What We Share and With Whom
We may share your data with:
Participating merchants: We share your transaction data and your email address with merchants where you have made a qualifying purchase, for the purposes of:
Confirming eligible transactions;
Applying loyalty points or rewards to your account;
Enabling merchants to recognise and engage with you as a loyalty participant (e.g., sending updates about your rewards or program changes).
Note: We only share your email address with merchants where you have actively shopped, and only for the purposes related to their loyalty scheme. We require all merchants to handle this data responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR.
Third-party service providers: We use trusted partners to help us operate and secure the Buzz Rewards platform. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality and data protection agreements.
Legal and regulatory authorities: If required by law or regulation, we may disclose your data to public authorities.
5.3 Additional Insights
To help our merchant partners better understand customer behaviour, we may also:
Share spend data within a merchant’s environment (i.e., purchases made at their stores or online properties) to help them analyse engagement with their brand.
Provide aggregated, anonymized insights about shopper behaviour outside of their stores, which cannot be linked to any individual. These insights are for marketing and strategic purposes only.
We never share full individual spend histories or personally identifiable financial data in these reports.
6. Data Security and Privacy
6.1 Buzz Rewards follows GDPR-compliant security practices to protect your personal data. We use:
End-to-end encryption when transmitting data.
Strict access controls to prevent unauthorized access.
Secure storage and processing within the United Kingdom.

7. Account Termination and Data Retention
7.1 You may delete your Buzz Rewards account at any time by using the in-app deletion function or by contacting support@buzzrewards.io.
7.2 Upon deletion:
Your linked accounts will be immediately disconnected.
Your transaction and reward data will be permanently erased within 30 days, unless required for regulatory compliance.
Buzz Rewards may retain limited records for up to seven years, as required by UK financial regulations.
8. Your Responsibilities
8.1 By using Buzz Rewards, you agree that:
You will only connect accounts that you legally own.
You will not use Buzz Rewards for fraudulent, illegal, or unauthorized purposes.
You will not attempt to access or modify the Service’s software or data.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Buzz Rewards provides the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that:
The Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Rewards programs from participating retailers will always be available or unchanged.
Data from third-party sources (e.g., banks, merchants) will always be accurate or complete.
9.2 Buzz Rewards is not responsible for:
Losses resulting from incorrect or missing reward allocations due to merchant policies, except in cases where such failure is caused by a Buzz Rewards technology malfunction—in which case our liability is limited to reasonable efforts to investigate and rectify the issue.
Any unauthorized access to your account caused by your own failure to protect your login details.
Any technical issues caused by third-party banking or payment services.
The fulfillment of rewards issued by merchants—all points, cashback, and rewards earned through a merchant’s loyalty program are the sole responsibility of that merchant.
Merchant changes to their loyalty programs—if a merchant modifies, cancels, or migrates their rewards scheme, Buzz Rewards has no liability for the loss or alteration of any rewards or points.
The relationship between the customer and the merchant—all loyalty and rewards interactions are strictly between the merchant and the customer, and Buzz Rewards is not a party to these agreements.
10. Changes to These Terms
10.1 Buzz Rewards may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect:
Changes in our Service or features.
Changes in regulatory requirements.
Updates in our business operations.
10.2 If changes are significant, we will notify you via email or through the Buzz Rewards app. Your continued use of the Service after the update means you accept the new terms.
